Review | Queen of His Heart | Suzanna Lynn

About The Book

When you play your cards always have a Queen in your hand.43236338

Officer Samantha Daniels has been given a dangerous mission; go undercover to get close to criminal mastermind, Dominic Murphy. However, becoming one of the king pin’s family isn’t as simple as introducing yourself with a basket of muffins.

Samantha must keep it together as she dives into her dark side, all while undergoing a terrible ignition that could take her life. However, torture can turn anyone’s mind to mush, and she discovers a whole new side of herself as she slowly gives into Dominic and his murderous tendencies.

Add a dash of insanity and a touch of Stockholm Syndrome, and you have a romance made of inner demons and blood.

It’s a sexy blood covered romance gone wrong; or maybe right

My Thoughts

I was provided a copy of Queen of His Heart for my honest option.

This was my first read by Suzanna Lynn.  Having never read any of her previous works, I was sure what kind of writer she would be.  Boy was I in for a treat.

Miss Lynn executed a well plotted, unique mafia type storyline that kept me engaged.

Her characters were intense and the chemistry was profound and powerful.  Definitely edging on the side of Harley Quinn/ Joker personalities.

And the ending will leave you want more, much more.

Although I did feel that it could have concluded a bit sooner it did not take away from the overall read and feel of the book.

If you are looking for something a little different, check out this 4.5 star novel, Queen of His Heart by Suzanna Lynn.

About The Author

Author Suzanna Lynn is a full-time mom of three beautiful, energetic children and spends her days with them and her husband in a small town nestled in the deep rolling hills of Missouri.

8068674Growing up in the Ozarks, as a child Suzanna spent her days wandering the fields and woods surrounding her home. While most children avoided the dark corners of the woods, she sought it out, imagining them to be filled with fairies, dragons and all number of creatures.

Having not lost her childhood imagination, Suzanna has written numerous poems, songs and short stories that won various awards in high school and college.

However, in 2014 she decided to stop wishing she could publish a book and made the dream a reality when she released The Bed Wife.

That first novella gave birth to two more books, completing the series, and stirred the embers of a new five-book series called The Untold Stories, which is currently in the works.

When she’s not busy writing or spending time with her family, Suzanna loves to draw and paint, as well as scrapbook. She also has been known to volunteer with her children’s school, the local Ladies Auxiliary veterans group and even the local zoo!

My Thoughts

I was provided an ARC copy of From The Grave for my honest review.

The MacKenzie Grey Trials is new set of books set in the world of Miss Espinosa’s Origin series, but takes place after the revolution.  Although it is not necessary to have read the 4 novels in the Origin series, it does help with some of the references made in From The Grave.

First I have to say, that I love the way Karina Espinosa writes.  In her past works,  she has crafted words to paper and made them come alive in the readers minds.  From The Grave is no different.

MacKenzie Grey is a stubborn, but strong willed and independent female lead, which personally I love.  And Bash, really knowing he has no choice, wisely lets her have her freedom.

From The Grave is full of plot twists and sneaky turns.  A great start to a new series for Karina Espinosa.

After reading this 4 star urban fantasy novel, I am looking forward to digging into Book 2.

Review | Brutal Curse | Casey L. Bond

brutal curse rdb tour banner (2)Brutal Curse is a Young Adult Fairy Tale retelling of Alice in Wonderland.  And doesn’t it have the most stunning cover???

About The Book

Brutal Curse EbookPrince Carden of Tierney lost his home, family, and claim to the throne in one fell swoop when he rebelled against his father for a cause he knew was right. Instead of wallowing in despair, he embarks on a new journey, starting a new life on the Southern Isle. When he finds himself caught in a web woven by the famously ruthless fae queen, Coeur, he insults her and she vows to teach him the most difficult and heart-breaking lesson he will ever learn: that humans are incapable of love, and that hearts are beastly things.

Arabella wasn’t really living, she was existing and surviving as best she could. A chance encounter with Carden changes everything for her, but the deadly game he’s dragged her into might cost her life.

Still, she agrees to play. The rules the fae queen gives them are vague, and it’s obvious there are things Queen Coeur isn’t telling them. She’s sure of it. But what she does know is that together, she and Carden must pass a series of tests and trials. If they fail, game over. But if they succeed, she just might be able to restore her family and carve out the life she’s always envisioned.

My Thoughts

I received a copy of  Brutal Curse for my honest opinion.

At this point, I’m not even sure how many books I’ve devoured by Casey L. Bond, but I have yet to find one that isn’t spectacular.

She is a brilliant writer and her mind itself must be a magical, wonderous place to be.  Ms. Bond brings those thoughts from her mind and brings them to life for the reader on every page, every chapter, every book.  And there are not many authors in this genre that compare to Casey L Bond.

Brutal Curse, a loose retelling of Alice and Wonderland, is imaginative, creative and beyond unique. With both a strong plot and even stronger characters, you’ll find yourself sucked into the rabbit hole right from the beginning pages.

If you are looking for something different, a twist on the ordinary, then I highly recommend Brutal Curse by Casey L Bond.

I can easily give Brutal Curse 5 stars and I’ll throw in a glass of whiskey too.

Review | He Loves You Not | Tara Brown

He Loves You Not RDB TOUR BannerHappy Release Day Tara Brown.  Her new romantic comedy He Love You Not, the 2nd book in her Serendipity series, is now available.

About The Book

How can a fidelity test possibly go wrong? In this sweet and sexy romance, international bestselling author Tara Brown counts the ways…

IMG_2180Among her superrich friends, Lacey Winters never minded being the “poor one.” That is, until her tuition money and big dreams vanish overnight. Now Lacey has a plan to make some extra cash—a devilishly brilliant plan. For a fee, she’ll test your boyfriend to find out if he’s faithful or a cheating jerk. Her next target: a slick and sexy trust-fund playboy. Unfortunately for Lacey, his charms aren’t just legend. And before she knows it, she’s under his spell.

It was bad enough that Jordan Somersby’s father forced a spoiled “society princess” on him. Then Jordan had to go and find his dream girl—the beautiful, fun, and down-to-earth Lacey. And he’ll do anything to prove he’s sincere. But pretty soon it’ll be Lacey’s turn to prove that this is not just a game.

My Thoughts

I received a copy of He Loves You Not for my honest opinion and thoughts.

This was my first read by Tara Brown and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Every once in awhile I like to delve into the New Adult genres for a fun entertaining read and He Loves You Not does not disappoint.  Sex, scandal, romance and drama, Tara Brown has covered it all and topped it off with a well played out HEA.

Her characters are well written and the plot well thought out.

He Loves You Not is the perfect 4 star weekend read.

About The Author

I believe growing up in a really small town gives a person a little advantage when it comes to the imagination. You need one or you go mad.Tara Brown

Needless to say, mine saved me. After it got me into trouble first, that is. That’s the problem with a vivid imagination, all the lies you tell.

I am happily married with two daughters. I have two giant dogs, two savage cats, and a penchant for a glass of red. Also, I drag my bread through the sauce. I can’t help myself, bread is life. According to my age, I am meant to be a responsible adult, but it isn’t going well at all. I would still head off to Hogwarts tomorrow and I suspect there isn’t a single wardrobe I haven’t crept into, hoping to find the door to Narnia. And don’t even get me started on the King’s Road, I get lost.

Fortunately, I am an international bestseller so I have wormed my way into a quirky or eccentric category.

 Thank God for that.
