Review | Luna and The Lie | Mariana Zapata

About The Book

42883009The problem with secrets is that they’re too easy to keep collecting.

Luna Allen has done some things she would rather no one ever know about. She also knows that, if she could go back in time, she wouldn’t change a single thing.

With three sisters she loves, a job she (mostly) adores, and a family built up of friends she’s made over the years, Luna figures everything has worked out the way it was supposed to.

But when one of those secrets involves the man who signs her paycheck, she can’t find it in her to regret it. Despite the fact that he’s not the friendliest man in the world. Or the most patient.

Sometimes there are things you’re better off keeping to yourself

My Thoughts

Can I just start by saying that I love books by Mariana Zapata.  I get super excited when I see a new one has released.

She never fails to write the most brooding, frustrating, pain in the ass and intensely hot male characters and Ripley is no exception to this rule.

OMG honestly, I love him and I love Miss Zapata for writing him.

I read all of her books within days and Luna and The Lie was no different.  Miss Zapata is a pure artist when it comes to writing contemporary romance.

My only issue with this book was that Luna was a little too oblivious and her poor me attitude was a bit too much for my liking when it comes to female character leads.

But overall it was another great 4 star release by Mariana Zapata.

About The Author

Mariana Zapata began writing love stories soon after she learned how to spell. She probably shouldn’t admit that she started sneaking romance novels from her aunt’s e8c37f_5f58b3a4a1e141f68facd6368d435dbe~mv2_d_1280_1920_s_2bookshelves way before she was old enough to even understand what it meant when a man flipped up a woman’s skirt… don’t tell her mom. Luckily, she stuck to stories about princesses and princes for a while. In her teens, she wrote boy band fanfiction (there’s still a website up somewhere on the internet with those masterpieces), and in her early twenties, she picked it back up again with Sookie Stackhouse and Twilight. Eventually, her significant other finally told her to do what she wanted to do and she began working on her original work. Her novels tend to include potty humor, bodily functions, and bad words. Mariana lives in a small town called Pagosa Springs, Colorado with her husband/best friend, Chris Letchford, and their two well-beloved (and emotionally manipulative) Great Dane children, Dorian and Kaiser. When she’s not pretending to write, she’s reading sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk or historical romance novels. You can usually find her harassing her dogs, being a hermit at home or cracking jokes at the expense of her family members.

My Thoughts

I was provided an ARC copy of From The Grave for my honest review.

The MacKenzie Grey Trials is new set of books set in the world of Miss Espinosa’s Origin series, but takes place after the revolution.  Although it is not necessary to have read the 4 novels in the Origin series, it does help with some of the references made in From The Grave.

First I have to say, that I love the way Karina Espinosa writes.  In her past works,  she has crafted words to paper and made them come alive in the readers minds.  From The Grave is no different.

MacKenzie Grey is a stubborn, but strong willed and independent female lead, which personally I love.  And Bash, really knowing he has no choice, wisely lets her have her freedom.

From The Grave is full of plot twists and sneaky turns.  A great start to a new series for Karina Espinosa.

After reading this 4 star urban fantasy novel, I am looking forward to digging into Book 2.

About the Author

Karina Espinosa is the Urban Fantasy author of the Sins of the Fallen series and the Karina EspinosaMackenzie Grey novels.  Infatuated with travel, pop culture and the need to write everything down, she spends much of her days in front of a computer working on her next book, shopping online and listening to music.  With nomadic tendencies, she is currently resting her head in South Florida until the itch to move strikes again. Review | Tossed Into Love |Aurora Rose Reynolds

Antonio’s been burned before. Now he knows better than to trust a pretty face and follow another pair of long, beautiful legs into heartbreak. But while Libby might rub him the wrong way, he can’t deny the heat between them. And it only burns hotter when she steps up in his time of need. The closer they get, the more he realizes he may have misjudged her. Then again, he doesn’t know the secret Libby’s keeping that could send their relationship up in flames before it’s even begun.

My Review

I was provided an advanced copy of Tossed into Love, from Netgalley for an honest review.

I chose to read Tossed into Love based on two factors: I enjoy Miss Reynolds style of writing and I love a good enemies to lovers book.  I mean, who doesn’t !?!?!?  And this book does not disappoint.

With well written characters and a crazy, sexual tension filled plot line, Tossed into Love is the perfect weekend or summer read.  And although it is the 3rd book in the Fluke My Life series, it is not necessary to have read the other 2 books, but definitely worth it if you do.

Told in a dual POV, Tossed Into Love is a sweet HEA read.  Overall I give it 4 stars! And as always I look forward to what Aurora Rose Reynolds has in store for us readers in the future.

My Thoughts…

I received a copy of Misteria as part of Lady Ambers PR tour.

While I do not typically read MG/ YA novels, I was very much drawn to the cover of Misteria, which is stunning in itself and the storyline was a bonus.

Miss Renae wrote a story that is magical and incanting.  She vividly takes you along on the journey of Anna and Will making you feel like anything in your imagination can be possible.

It was written perfectly for its target age group and if you or your children are a fan of fantasy’s and fairy-tales than Misteria is a must read.  Where was this author when I was  younger???

Overall I give Misteria 4 magical stars.

Review – Double Down – Alessandra Torre

Double Down, is the second, and final book in Alessandra Torre’s new romantic suspense duet All In.

DoubleDown_EbookThe first book, Even Money, which should be read before taking on Double Down, ends on one hell of a cliffhanger.  Lucky for the reader, we didn’t have to wait long for Double Down to release and Miss Torre picked up right where she left off.

Just like Even Money, Double Down is a romantic suspense novel, however I did find the second book to be a little darker than the first.  It worked well to give the storyline an edgy feel full of twists and unforeseen turns, hooking you in until it conclusion.

Alessandra Torre has the creativity, the wicked imagination and the skill to write the stories that readers want to read, from the first word until the very last.

I’ve grown to love the characters in Double Down and hope to see them in books of their own.  But for now, Bell and Dario will have their HEA.

Overall I give Double Down 4 Stars and the All In Series 4.5*.
