About Me – 10 Useless & Random Things You Don’t Care About

So I’ve decided to have some fun today with some uselessness, do what you like with it!!

  1. I love Nutella and until 4 days ago I would eat it by the spoonful, right out of the jar
  2. I collect shoes, much to my husbands dismay.  I have more than any one person should have.
  3. Don’t shoot me, but I hated Seinfeld.
  4. I have a girl crush on Mila Kunis.
  5. I have to pee really badly right now, but trying to hold it until I am done this post.
  6. I’m currently binge watching Switched At Birth on Netflix.  So much so that my son asked me why the hell I was using my hands so much when I talked.  Didn’t even notice!  hahaha! If you haven’t watched it, there’s lots of sign language in it.
  7. I don’t drink coffee, never even tried it.
  8. Driving a Zamboni is on my bucket list.
  9. My favourite colour is black. It makes up about 90% of my wardrobe.
  10. When I was a kid I really wanted a Popple, sadly I never got one.  I will forever have to live the remainder of my life wondering what if…..

Glad you had fun with this uselessness.  I am going to tag a few people to play along, play along if you like.

Share Your World | June 18

Here’s my take on this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography

You can have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it? Sushi? Scotch Tape?

This is easy.  Books would be the one thing I’d love an unlimited supply of.  I read constantly.  Reading is what I do to unwind and escape for a while.  I have been an avid read since my middle grade years when I was hooked on Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume books.  Followed by The Babysitter Club and then eventually Nancy Drew The Case Files series.  My love of reading has never stopped.   The books have just gotten a little more adult.

Teleportation or Flying

I want to say teleportation because it is so quick and easy.  But I say flying because one of the things I’d love to eventually do is to learn to fly a plane.  Just something small, like a sea plane.  I think this would be an amazing feeling and the closest I could get to actual flying.

I once jumped from a plane and that free falling feeling was an amazing rush.

Would you rather live where it only snows or the temperature never falls below 100 degrees?

I live where it snows a lot and I hate it.  I am NOT made for winter.  Winter is long and cold and depressing.   I would definitely take the heat any day.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

This past Sunday was Fathers Day.  We decided to spend the afternoon in Niagara Falls playing tourists.  We enjoyed a few drinks on a rooftop patio along the main strip and just relaxed.

Share Your World- June 4, 2017

Here is goes….

A piece of clothing from your younger childhood you still remember?

Honestly I don’t think I remember anything specifically. Really just items from what I seen in old photos. A red dress my mom sewed. A royal blue bathing suit. A Strawberry Shortcake tshirt. Rainbow socks with the individual toes in them.

I remember more from my early teen years. That seemed to be when trends and brand names seemed to be important.

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do? Remember this is SYW, dreaming is always allowed.

Hmmm…I think I would be a snowboarder. It looks like a lot of fun. I can barely ski so snowboard will not likely be happening anytime in my near future.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

Always the driver. For two reasons. 1. I like to be in control, especially when driving on the highway. It works well that my husband hates highway driving. 2. I often get motion sickness when others drive. It’s less likely to happened if I’m the driver. Again it goes back to control.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination

Saturday we went to the Toronto Zoo. The weather was perfect and there weren’t a lot of crowds so we had perfect views of many of the animals.

I’m An Antique of Youth

I once read somewhere that forty was the old age of the youth and that fifty was the youth of the old age.

I am a few weeks shy of my 42nd birthday so I must certainly be an archaic youth. Really its like being aged in Betty White years.  I am the Betty White of the youth.  0a6eff06778d989696adafa32edb018b

I can honestly say that I had very difficult time moving into my forties.  I didn’t handle it well.  I’ve had many conversations with friends and co-workers about this new decade of life.  For me personally, I think it is much more difficult for a woman in her forties than a man.  And maybe I am very wrong in saying that.  Remember this is just the view from inside my head.

I feel like I got to 40 and was like “now what?”  When you are in your 20’s, forty seems so much older, so far away.  The choices in life seem endless, time seems endless.  Then real life pops up and time flies by and things don’t seem so endless anymore.  71685a1ddfbd22d763a0de28380855f4

In some ways I still feel youthful, but full of more life experiences.  We all have things that we have learned along the way that we would love to share with our younger self.  Tidbits and words of encouragement.  Maybe suggesting a different path on the fork in the road.  Or maybe you would do it all the same, because everything happens for a reason.  Maybe you are meant to be exactly where you are.

Maybe it will be the next twenty years, when you move into the youth of your old age, that you will take the wisdom from the past part of you life and live! Experience life to the fullest in the truest way to you.

For me, I am trying to be the healthiest me that I can be. Mind, body and soul.  I want to move into the next parts of my years with clarity and awareness.  I want to push myself past my comfort zone, even when it scares me.  They say the best stuff happens there.

So has I navigate these golden years of my youth, I try to remember that every year that I go older it is a blessing.  Not everyone gets to do it.

Let’s Never Find A Cure

It is amazing what laughter can do for a person.  How it can infect one’s soul with energy and awaken us.  How is can change a bad day. Or bad news.  How it can offer relief, even if only temporary.

What makes you laugh?  Is it a funny joke or a comedian?   A witty one liner?  Maybe something silly or goofy you spouse or kids did.  Perhaps a pet that has done something ridiculous? Sometimes it’s someone else’s laugh.   You know the one.  It gets you laughing so hard you can’t even remember what you where laughing about in the first place.  Where your belly aches and your eyes become a stream.

Have you laughed today? What was it that made you laugh? Was it just a chuckle or may a full out roar of laughter? How did it make you feel?  Did it change your day in anyway, even if momentarily?

Infect your soul today with laughter and then spread it on!  Change a moment of your time and feed your soul some happiness.  Let’s never find a cure!
