My thoughts for this week’s sparksfromacombustiablemind’s Share Your World

Are you a better listener or speaker?

I’m not a great speaker.  I’m kind of shy and find small talk to be very awkward.  I usually think faster then I speak and leave out words, so really it doesn’t make sense half the time.

I like to listen to people talk.  Especially the generations older than me.  I love listening to their stories.  Their memories.

If you were asked to designed a warning label that would be tattooed on your skin, what would it say?

I’ve had a question similar to this before.  I always quote Taylor Swift and say “I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream.”

Pretty accurate…I am a woman after all.   The wind changes direction and so does my mood.  lol!!!

Don’t question it, just roll with it.

What are you passionate about?

Well, shoes for one!  I love them and have more pairs that any one person should own.

But in all seriousness, I am a strong believer that you live this life just once.  You need to be who you are and true to yourself.  And that we need to be more accepting of people’s life choices.  As long as its consensual there is no right or wrong.

What gave you a reason to smile this past week?

These 2 grumpy old men I follow on Twitter make me smile.  Actually they make me laugh…a lot.

Share Your World – Sept 3, 2018

Its been a bit since I posted any thing and I thought what better way than to play along with sparksfromacombustiblemind‘s Share Your World questions for this week.

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?   If you are ‘old’ (a term with different meanings for everyone); what stories do you tell your grandchildren?

Ummm….this one is a thinker!  Not sure.  My husband and I set up an email address for our son that we will give him the password to when he turns 18.  In it are emails with pictures and thoughts and events that have happened over the years.  Each of us writes separately but neither of us looks at what was written.

I would like to think that we would continue this with any children he may have, telling funny stories or happenings, sharing photos or memories.

When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?

HA!!! Can I put labour here?  I had a great labour, but I mean at the end of the day I was pushing 9lbs of human out of very tight spot.  And that kid had one hell of a big head.  But the end result was worth every ounce of pain and discomfort.

What would be the worst thing to hear as you are going under anesthesia before surgery?

“I’m not 100% confident that this one’s going to make it”

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Ah…this is easy!!!  It was Back To School!!! Oh yeah.  hahaha!!!  I mean who doesn’t love back to school after a long long summer.  Except the lunches,  I hate making school lunches.

Here my take on this weeks Share Your World by Cee’s Photography

In regards to puzzles, what’s your choice? Jigsaw, crosswords, word searches, mazes, logic, or numeric, something else or nothing?

I love all types of puzzle games.   Anything were I have to really think.  I generally stay away from maze games and sudoku, but I love word games.  Scrabble is my all time favourite game.  You wouldn’t think it because I usually spell stuff how it sounds, but playing Scrabble has really helped me with words I wouldn’t normally use.   Plus the challenge of using the double or triple word scores….oh yeah!!!  And I love getting the dreaded q,x,z tiles.

List at least 5 favourite treats, and it doesn’t have to be food:

Pecan Pie

Thunderstorms

Shoes

Doing fun out of the ordinary things with my husband and son

Reading

Whiskey

iZombie – its what I’m watching right now when I have time

Chia seeds and hemp hearts – I’m addicted. They go on everything right now.

What is your favourite type of dog? ( it can be anything from a specific breed,  a stuff animal or a character in a movie)

I haven’t had a dog since I lived at home, 20 years or so ago.  When Steve and I first moved in together I really missed have a pet, but we weren’t home enough to have a dog so we settled on a cat.  We would never get a dog as long as our cat was still alive.  As the years progressed he back too old to be tolerable of having a dog.  Last Wednesday he moved on to kitty heaven after 17.5 years.

Now we are ready for another pet just yet but I have been looking at dogs, because I am a dog lover.  Thinking either an English Bulldog, Coonhound or a Beagle. But really I’m just as happy to rescue some sad eyes from the local shelter.

What did  you appreciate or what made you smile this week?

This past week was our annual cottage vacation up in the Muskoka’s.   A week with friends, soaking up the sun, splashing in the water, fishing, boated, tubing etc.  It is always tons of laughs.  Oh and the sunsets….. Sigh!!!

I even did a fun little photo piece called Even Death Needs A Vacation…..yes that’s me dressed up!  Got quite a few strange looks from that one!

Here’s my take on this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

I think I would call it Bittersweet Blonde – A Symphony of Shades.  It would be about the many different roles I play or have played in life.

Which do you prefer, sweet, salty or buttery?

I prefer sweet stuff, but usually want something salty right after I have eaten something sugary.  I love chocolate covered stuff, like caramel, mint or almonds.  And I love chips or salty popcorn.  But I never have a craving for butter.  I won’t even put it on that salty popcorn.

What is the finest education?

Parenthood.  There is no harder job in the world.  There is no training. You don’t know what the fuck you are doing.  Just when you think you have the hang of things it all changes.  Every kid is so different and unique that what may work for one child may not work for another.  You just learn as you go and have to accept that you do the best you can and hope for the best.  And yes, you are going to make mistakes. Its called life.  I also think you learn a lot about yourself when you become a parent.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

Well for those of you that have been following my blog you will know that I am currently on a 8 week challenge to eating healthy and clean, and to lose some weight that I have put on.  I have just finished week 2 and hit my weight goal that I had set for the end of week 3.  I was so excited, and did a weird squeal from the bathroom.  My husband ran in thinking something was wrong.  He found me dancing around naked on the scale.  We both had a good laugh over it.

Tell us about you first bicycle or car?

This first bike I can remember was a big red tricycle that I got for my 4th birthday.  I was super excited for it and didn’t want to share, I mean, I had literally just gotten it.  My cousin, a year older, wanted to try it and I got so mad that my parents made me share it, that I ended up being sent to my room.  Grrrr….. lol!!!

If only life’s problems now were a simple as fighting over a red tricycle.

What fictional world or place would you like to visit?

Is there any other option than Wonderland???  Wouldn’t it be fun to fall down the rabbit hole? Have conversations with the Mad Hatter? A crazy tea party?  Grow big or small just by eating or drinking?? I would love to be Alice for a day.

If you could have someone follow you around for a day, like a personal assistant, what would you have them do?

At first I wanted to answer that I wouldn’t want anyone following me around.  That would drive me insane.  I hate people in my space.  But then I thought about it and really I would love a driver.  I commute to work each day and sometime the traffic is crazy.  It would be nice to just sit back and relax and not have to worry about being alert or having to deal with traffic jams.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

We went to a Canada Day BBQ on Sunday to a friends.  We have been friends with these people for more that 20 year.  Always lots laughs.  It great after all these years we can still poke fun at each other.  And how can think picture not make you smile!
