Reading…It’s In My Blood

I love to read. I’d prefer it over watching a movie or TV any day. I love the books that just grab you right from the beginning. The ones that keep you turning the pages long after you should have gone to bed. And I love when others share in my joy of reading, especially if we love the same book.

Also I really enjoy getting recommendations.

So I ask, what book(s) would you recommend to me? A book that you’re really excited about and think others should read?

About Unlocked601c8-ul2bpaperback2bfinal

Princess Raya of Paruth lived alone on a deserted island in a towering lighthouse, forgotten by time. With only a loyal albatross as a friend, she had little hope or joy in her life until he washed up on her shore in the middle of a raging winter storm.

Prince Trevor of Galder left his father and kingdom behind to travel north in search of a wife. It was time to settle down and forget Ella Carina, the woman who chose to love a peasant and follow her heart instead of choosing Trevor and fulfilling her duty to her people. He didn’t heed the warnings about the North Sea in winter, and his ship, crew, and captain paid the price.

Raya and Trevor must work together to find a way off the island, or risk being trapped there for the rest of their lives. But sometimes the simplest lessons are the hardest, and each will have to learn that the only thing that can truly set you free is love

Review – Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl by Marie Savage

Asphalt Cowboy – a man (country boy) who works on the road. he is always gone, traveling to different states due to his line of work.
an asphalt cowboy could be considered a truck driver, iron worker, etc.

I was provided an ARC of Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl for an honest review. Asphalt Cowboys Girl Marie Savage E-Cover

In this steamy contemporary romance by Marie Savage, we meet Luke McIntyre and Aimee Jo Elliott.  Luke a loner, travelling the highways with his rig, living life by his terms,  finding temporary lovers along the way.  Aimee Jo, a young, trusting, naïve woman, fleeing her life in Georgia, hopeful of a new start in California. Unfortunate circumstances have the two crossing path at a truck stop in Mobile Alabama.  What should have been an easy 4 days together turned out to be anything but.

This was my first read by Marie Savage.  I really enjoyed the overall plot line of the novel.  The book was a very easy read and easily devoured in one sitting.  The story line flowed seamlessly throughout the entire novel.  I also really liked that Miss Savage chose to write the novel from a dual point of view.  One of my favourite things about any romance novel is reading it through the males eyes.

While I generally like my lead females to be strong and fierce, I found that Marie Savage wrote Aimee Jo’s character to perfection.  Her skilled words brought Aimee Jo to life, as she saw her, on each and every page.  cag1

The steaminess really builds in Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl until it was thick with sexual tension.   Add in a unexpected threat from a dangerous ex and you having the makings a of a well rounded book.

Overall I rate Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl 4 Stars.  I’m looking forward to reading what Marie Savage will produce in the future as she grows as an author.

Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl is one click away at Amazon.com or Amazon.ca.

And don’t forget to add it to your Goodreads TBR list.

On the highway, bad things can happen….Asphalt Cowboys Girl Marie Savage E-Cover

Aimee Jo Elliott isn’t having a good day.  Her long anticipated journey to California is cut short when her car is stolen.  Stranded at a truck stop in Alabama, with no car, no money and most of all, no hope,  she’s desperate to get back on the road.  California holds the answer to all of her dreams and an escape from the danger than she’s left behind in Georgia.  Accepting a ride from the sexy truck driver has its own set of risks, but she never considered it would be to her heart.

The life of an asphalt cowboy…

Luke McIntyre has life all figured out.  He owns his own rig, makes his own rules and only answers to himself.  The solitude of life on the road suits him just fine. Not one for permanent relationships, he has no problems pick up temporary lovers.  And his always makes sure they know the score – hot sex, respect, but no strings.  His quiet life is shot to hell, however, when he offers the Georgia beauty a ride.  He soon discovers that rules were made to be broken.

In for the long haul…

Sensual romantic man in cowboy hat hugging a beautiful gypsy bruLuke and Aimee Jo soon realize their simple four-day journey is anything but simple.  An instant attraction sidetracks their well-made plans and dreams. When they reach California, decisions must be made. Will they go their separate ways, or journey on together.

Share Your World – May 7, 2018

Yup, I’m a day behind, but better late then never!!!

If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do? (This is just a dream question, remember anything can happen in SYW.)

Sitting here right now, thinking about it, I honestly don’t know.  We’ve all played this game over the years and depending on where you are at in your life, depends on what you would choose to do with it.

I think that I wouldn’t tell anyone, but surprise our close family and friends with their dream car and some fun money.  Or maybe take everyone on one hell of a vacation.

Whatever it is, my first thoughts are always of giving to someone else.

Oh and I would definitely get a pair or two of Louboutins……lol

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

One of the things I love most is snuggling on the couch reading, with the windows open, a light breeze and the sounds of outside.   But what makes that even better is a storm coming in.  The smell of the air changing, the distance rumble of thunder, then eventually the sound of the rain hitting the roof.   Nothing to me is more relaxing a soothing that that.  Sadly we don’t get as many thunderstorms as we used to.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

Actually I am not good at receiving gifts, but I love to give them.

I would prefer to just buy myself something.  My birthday is in June and the weather is usually nice and sunny and warm.  I like just wondering around the mall or in and out of shops and pick a few things.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

My son has been dying to go to Inflow, an indoor skate park about an hour away from our house.  He and his friends are big into scootering.  so I took them on Saturday for the day. It made me smile to see how happy and excited he was.  He had a great time!
