Day 5 – The Road to 2 Chesticles

Hello, my name is Angela and I am a sugar addict!

Well its Day 5 of my 8 Week Challenge and it going pretty good.  By the end of alice-in-wonderland-drink-meWednesday (Day 3) I had a killer headache.  Normally I would cure this with my love of Diet Pepsi,  but I forged on and didn’t give in.  Even when I opened my fridge and it was practically begging me to drink it. “Drink Me, Drink Me” it said.  Who knew a can of Diet Pepsi could be so full of peer pressure.  Nasty bugger.

And my apologies to my husband and son….I was a wee bit moody.

I am still missing the sugar.  I mean last night I was ready to break open our game of Candyland and eat the pieces and lick the board.  I mean those gingerbread men where looking mighty delicious.

Oh and I’ve worked out the past 2 nights.  I need to start eating glitter so at least my sweat looks pretty.  (Note to self: find out if glitter is challenge friendly).

Let’s just say that I hate working out.  I mean strapping the girls into a sports bra is usually a workout in itself.  (Busty girls, you know what I’m taking about)

So at the start of Day 5, I will say this: I already notice a change in my body.  I have already lost weight.  Enough that I did a weird naked happy dance in the bathroom this morning.  Glad the neighbours can’t see in, they’d think I was having some sort of seizure. And I am sleeping better.

Can’t wait to see what the next 5 days brings.  Stayed tuned.

About Me – 10 Useless & Random Things You Don’t Care About

So I’ve decided to have some fun today with some uselessness, do what you like with it!!

  1. I love Nutella and until 4 days ago I would eat it by the spoonful, right out of the jar
  2. I collect shoes, much to my husbands dismay.  I have more than any one person should have.
  3. Don’t shoot me, but I hated Seinfeld.
  4. I have a girl crush on Mila Kunis.
  5. I have to pee really badly right now, but trying to hold it until I am done this post.
  6. I’m currently binge watching Switched At Birth on Netflix.  So much so that my son asked me why the hell I was using my hands so much when I talked.  Didn’t even notice!  hahaha! If you haven’t watched it, there’s lots of sign language in it.
  7. I don’t drink coffee, never even tried it.
  8. Driving a Zamboni is on my bucket list.
  9. My favourite colour is black. It makes up about 90% of my wardrobe.
  10. When I was a kid I really wanted a Popple, sadly I never got one.  I will forever have to live the remainder of my life wondering what if…..

Glad you had fun with this uselessness.  I am going to tag a few people to play along, play along if you like.

Day 3 – On The Road To 2 Chesticles

So its the morning of Day 3 of the 8 Week Challenge.  Now two full days without sugar or pop.  Yesterday all I wanted was Chocolate Cake.  Weird because I don’t normally even eat Chocolate Cake.   But was craving it.  Didn’t give in though.

Today I feel like I am experiencing some detoxing symptoms.  I’m a bit foggy and Ive been alternating between being cold and having hot flashes and sweating.  But other than that, I been feeling good.

I am actually really enjoying the meals and snacks that I have been having.  This morning I enjoyed 2 scrabbled eggs topped with chia seeds and hemp hearts and gluten free brown rice bread.  And it was sooooo good. I was disappointed when it was done.

Now lets talk about the water intake.  I’ve always drank water, but not this much.   We are to have 8-10 glasses a day, so approximately 64 – 80oz of water a day.  Holy moly, my bladder has never gotten this much of a workout.   Not even on those drunken nights after you’ve broken the seal and can’t seem to every stop peeing.  LOL!!!

The daily support/ motivation from Briar, from the 8 Week Challenge has been awesome and the daily food tracker, where you upload photos of your meals/ snack and rate them Challenge Friendly or not, has been even better.

And the best part?!?!?!?!  I haven’t wanted to murder anybody yet, but then again the day is still young.

Share Your World – June 25, 2018

Here is my take on this weeks Share Your World from Cee’s Photography

If aliens land on earth tomorrow and offered to take you home with them, would you go?

Absolutely not!  I always think of aliens as scary and wanting to probe me in naughty places.  No thank you.  Hahahaha.  I am perfectly fine where I am.

How tall are you? Are you satisfied with your height?

I am 5’1″. A shorty.  And I love it! I wouldn’t want to be any other height.  And if I want to be taller, I just pop of a pair of heels and off I go.

Do you think you could live without your smartphone (or other technology) for 24 hours?

I could.  Part of using a smartphone so much is really just out of boredom or habit.  If I didn’t have it, I wouldn’t think about it.  I would love to just settle in with a good book or spend time with my husband and/ or son.

What did  you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

I spent the day in New York City on Saturday.  I do this once a year with a girlfriend of mine.  We just spend the day wandering and doing whatever peaks our interest.  This year we walked the Brooklyn Bridge and it made me realize how out of shape I am.  lol!!! Tried some new restaurants and had some amazing meals. Shout out to Sean’s Bar & Kitchen.  They make a stiff drink!

Found a rock in Central Park and just dozed on and off for an hour or so.  Did a little shopping.  And as always, I pop over to Times Square.  No matter day or night, it is one of my favourite spots ever. I love the energy in Times SquareIMG_2909IMG_2908IMG_2897IMG_2893

Day 1 – The Road To Only 2 Chesticles

Today is Day 1 of the 8 Week Challenge.  I can honestly say that I am feeling a bit apprehensive about the whole thing.  Worried that it won’t work. Worried about the next couple of days as I detox from sugar. Eeeek!!! Worried that I will say fuck it and just give in to eating shit.   I know a lot of this for me will be just about breaking bad habits and routines.  Oh and adding in the dreaded exercise.  Grrr!!!

Let’s see how it goes.

Here are my stats as of yesterday.  And a very real and raw, unfiltered picture of myself.  I definite first for me.  But if I am going to go all in with this, I want it to be truthful and I want to see tangible results.

Chest – 38″

Waist – 34″
