I love being alone. There is something so peaceful and calming about being alone in a quiet space. I thrive on “me” time. That’s not to say that I don’t like the company of others, I do, I just like to chose the time, date, people etc.
I hate that awkward moment when you know that you are going to have to make small talk with someone that you really don’t know or someone that you haven’t seen in a long time. Maybe someone you went to school with or used to work with. That’s what Facebook is for people!!! This way I can be noisy about your life without actually having to make the dreaded small talk!
Or when you have to go to a social gathering with a ton of new people. Just the thought makes my stomach churn. I like to be that girl sitting alone at the table, minding my own. No need to disturb me! If I could sneak in my e-reader I would.
But as I get older, I am trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone. One of my favorite quotes is about being outside of that zone.
So that is what I try to do. Life is short and we only get to live it once.
