Pop Up Bunnies Just In Time for Easter

This morning my mom and I, along with some friends of ours, enjoyed the tranquil and relaxing atmosphere of The Watering Can. This weekend they were offering a Spring Fresh DIY Pop Up workshop. The completed 8″x5″ planter has a beautiful assortment of colours, with a cute little bunny ornament to finish it off.

The workshop, a cost of $20, was pre-booked and not surprising, was sold out in all time slots.

Long workstations are set up and all the supplies set out, just leaving us to pick which plants we wanted to use.

Our mini gardens were colourful and included Campanula, Star of Bethlehem and Kalanchoe.

Everything was planted in a stone planter and topped off with a colour moss and a bunny nestled in the centre of it all!

And presto, we have a Spring Fresh planter.

This was my first workshop at The Watering Can and I would definitely do it again. It’s a great activity for a girls day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the smells were amazing. We had time to talk and laugh all well putting our planters together

Afterwards we strolled though the displays and plants they had in their shop. There is also a little cafe onsite, with many yummy treats for sale.

So next time you are in the Vineland, Ontario area, pop into The Watering Can and enjoy!

Beach Vibes & Bohemian Waves Anklets

Inspiration can be found just about anywhere. Sometimes from flipping through a magazine, the cover of a book or the colour of someone’s shirt. Maybe it’s an outfit you plan to wear or gift your giving. Could just be the mood your in at that point in time.

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of beach and ocean photos. You know the ones of everyone’s vacations that show up on your social media feed? Yes those ones. They got me thinking about the summer and cottages or trips to the beach. Tanned legs and cute painted toes. And of course ankle bracelets popped into my head. What a perfect addition to Whiskey Angel Designs for the upcoming summer season.

A bohemian vibe with sunfish, anchor or turtle accents. Perfect as a single bracelet, or a few for a nice funky layered effect!

All you need to do is add the beach!

Skip The Potatoes, Eat Cauliflower Instead

Okay, so lets start by saying that I am a carb addict! Not surprising, since a majority of us are. It’s hard not to be, they taste soooo good. But I’ve been trying to remind myself that just because it’s tastes good doesn’t mean it is good!

So in the search for some healthier alternatives that still taste just as good, I went to the one place many of us seem to go….Pinterest and started searching. Of course I pinned about a 100 things of which I will likely never make. But they look good on my recipe board, right? In my search however, I came across a recipe that peeked my interest enough to actually make it.

What was it you ask? Well let me tell you! It’s called the Loaded Keto Cauliflower Bowl. The exact recipe can be found over at Hey Keto Mama.

I don’t follow a Keto diet but wanted to try this out and I was not disappointed. I modified the recipe to suit my taste. It works well as a side dish or just on it’s own.

For my version I fully cooked a bunch of cauliflower. No exact amount. Just whatever seems enough for you.

While the cauliflower is cooking I chopped up the ingredients I wanted to added. I like to use bacon, pepper, green onions and cheese. As well as some seasoning salt and Tex Mex seasoning. Again it’s your preference.

Once the cauliflower is cooked and chopped up I mix everything together with about 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and voilà you’re done. So easy and so delicious.

I do find letting it chill for about an hour gives it a more enhanced flavouring!

So enjoy and remember to give cauliflower a chance!

Justday. The Missing Day in Our Week.

We need to add Justday into our week.  You know that day that doesn’t exist in between Sunday and Monday???  Yeah, that day.

Its the day of the week that you Just Be.  Just do anything you want.   Just relax or Just spend time with your families.  We seemed to have lost that day.  Weekends have become nothing more then an extension of our work week. Instead of business meetings, project deadlines and customer demands, we have sporting events,  multiple errands and demanding children. just-be

That excitement we feel for Fridays is quickly replaced by the common thought “Where the hell did the weekend go??”

We need time to decompress and wind down.   Work on that favourite hobby. Read a book. Take a nap. Spend time with family or just be alone.  Whatever it is for you!

Just Be!

Gah…My sons voice is like nails on a chalkboard

Let me start by saying, I love my son, but wholly hell can he talk…ALOT! You know those days that you just want quiet? Those times when you’d like a peaceful moment of sanity? Yeah, those days? Well yesterday I needed that day. And that day I did not get.

My son, who is 11, was extremely chatty yesterday and the sound of his voice was equivalent to the sound of nails on a chalkboard. I cringed every time I heard it. And for any of you that have chatty kids, you know what it’s like when you just want them to shut up. And it was like the more I wanted the quiet, the more he talked.

But I guess that’s mom life, right??? Some days we can tune it out and other days it’s like a heavy metal coming out of cranked up speakers! But today is a new day. The sun is shinning and there is such a calmness in my house! I will take this moment of time to detox from the constant chatter and read a book, snuggle under a blanket and just be!
